Aside from the hideous box, this seems like a really good deal. The GTX 1070 and CPU alone cost as much as or more than this unit. Let alone all the other components. Am I missing something?

May they have already been used for mining in the past and could be worn out since they are refurbed?

What do you think? I'd say the chances of any of these desktop deals with GTX 1070 that are "Refurbs" are quite likely miners or former miners for sure.

No, this has been cheaper. Same unit for around $820 AC last week on eBay. There were few threads about it already.

Can anyone confirm what the RAM config is for this model? i.e: 8GB x2 or 16GB x1. Are the modules SODIMM (laptop form-factor) or standard DIMM?

Also, is the 1TB HDD a 2.5" or 3.5"?

ASUS's official spec page isn't much help: https://www.asus.com/us/ROG-Repub...fications/

2x8gb S0DIMM
3.5" Toshiba HDD

Frequently goes on sale for 820-850. Not worth it at higher prices.

I purchased one and added a 256gb M.2 SSD (256gb is the max m.2 size it will support). It's pretty darn fast for the money.
