I have been keeping an eye out for a lithium string trimmer. I have hopes on getting the EVO, but am considering going for this instead.

I don't own this but have the mower and blower. I thought about buying this but but I think this is the model that won't accept attachments, so make sure if that is something you need.

Attachment capable requires that the motor be top mount. The 80V 16-Inch Cordless Brushless Top Mount String Trimmer [greenworkstools.com] (w/ battery and charger) is currently $199 at GreenworksTools.com ($331.25 at Amazon).
The version with battery and charger is $299 at greenworkstools.com. The $199 version is tool only.

You comment about time machine is very baseless and doesn't help anyone. The fact that it has been cheaper and it could be still be cheaper later is very useful to the Slickdeals community.

Unfortunately, your average 2-stroke gas powered tool is not only cheaper but will also hold up longer than your typical lithium-ion battery for one of these.

Buying a replacement battery for when it inevitably dies?

$120.

I will replace battery after battery to never have to start another 2-stroke gas engine again. I hate starting them and the stink of them on me afterwards. I feel like Agent Smith in the Matrix...except instead of humans it's 2-stroke engines.

Eh. To each his own, but these high capacity/high discharge batteries just don't have enough runtime or charge/discharge cycle lifetime to be worth it for me right now. $120-200 for a battery alone if it dies is a pretty swift and decisive kick to the nuts.
