Man that's shady as hell. Lol

For those interested, I've owned the P3 Standard, two P4s, and I currently own a Mavic Pro. I won't bother with a Mavic Air because it's a waste of money if you already have a Mavic Pro.

If you are looking for a dedicated tool for shooting footage, which means you are prepping equipment for your shots, the Phantom 4 Adv/Pro are definitely the way to go (or the Inspire 2, but you already know that three sets of batteries would cost you what this whole P4A does, so clearly not relevant to compare). It is definitely far more tedious to schlep along, but luckily the DJI case or the compatible backpacks make it so it's not terribly cumbersome. You could go on a hike with it in a backpack and still be fine, even with two or three batteries with you. The Mavic Pro, of course, is tiny. I have a hard-shell case that I put it in for protection, but it still falls into the bottom of any backpack. You could also just toss it into any bag, but that risks damage to the somewhat fragile props.

Prep time is fairly insignificant thanks to the quick-release props, which was huge coming from the P3 series, and everything connects very quickly. I could be out of the box, connected, and in the air in the matter of two or so minutes. The longest part of that was waiting for GPS locking and IMU warm-up, so it's important to start up the battery and controller first if you are in a hurry to get a shot, then install the props while waiting. The Mavic Pro is slightly faster, due to the props folding and not needing install, but the GPS binding and warm-up is still the limiting factor when it comes to bag-to-launch time. The P3S is the slowest, because you need to literally screw on all the props, make sure they're tight, and wait for the warm-up. Because the screwing on takes longer than the warm-up itself, it's by far the slowest. It's also the slowest, for this reason, for packing up. The Mavic Pro is the fastest for packing up, and the P4 is slightly slower.

Footage-wise, it's not even fair. The P4 has a significantly better platform when it's in the air, in terms of a far better gimbal, a vastly superior sensor with a mechanical shutter, and combination of weight and more powerful motors allows it to fight the wind. The Mavic Pro sucks in the wind, it gets tossed around and the programming for the OA causes it to get ridiculously slow into the wind. I've seen it going 7mph into a 13mph headwind, simply because the programming will not allow the attitude of the craft to exceed a certain value. At that point you have to toss it into Sport Mode and just fly it like that, which means you're probably getting props in the shot. Even then, you can still sense that it's getting tossed around. The P4 in a 13mph wind? You might see that the speed is like 3-4mph slower than normal, where it normally goes about 20ish mph, but it's nothing like the Mavic Pro that drops to 1/3 of the normal speed. However, you're definitely more likely to get props in the shot (even in P-mode) if you're flying into a strong wind, because the craft does angle itself. So, make sure you position your gimbal right, fly backwards, or be prepared to crop in post. The Mavic Pro has a good camera for its size, but it has a tendency to introduce artifacts due to DJI's programming and you have to use ND filters if you want great shots during sunny days. Glare is a real issue. The P3S has a good camera with a good gimbal, but you're limited to 2.7K.

As far as range and battery life, this again goes to the P4. Even with the 5350 mAh battery. You get about 25 minutes out of a brand new one, and about 28 minutes of actual usage from the 58xx mAh battery. The Mavic Pro is about 23-24 minutes of actual usage. But, don't let the numbers fool you, the P4 is the faster craft. Cruising at max throttle in sport mode led to about 42-43mph sustained. The Mavic Pro is right around 40mph sustained. That 5-8% increase in speed means that you cover more ground in the same time, and the range on the P4 will get you around 4 miles if you're in the middle of nowhere. The Mavic Pro will also reach the same distances, but your limiting factor is the battery on both of them. I could travel 32,000 feet on a battery with windy conditions and land with 19% battery. The P4 came back with 30% from the same distance, mainly because I had a headwind on the way back and the P4 was faster coming back into that headwind. The P3 sucks. It has shorter battery life and maybe 1/10 of the range. Unless you're planning on modifying with one of those ridiculous antennas, it's something you fly very close to you.

The conclusion is that the Mavic Pro is the best all-around drone for me, and it's the reason I sold the rest. I often ride motorcycles or go hiking and want spontaneous footage, but I don't need any footage that I'm going to sell, so the Mavic Pro is enough for me. The batteries are also half the cost, which is big. Once you want something more serious in terms of footage, or you need to do precision flying where the stability comes into play, the P4 wins. The P4 also has a controller which lasts sooooo much longer, making it good if you're doing anything commercial where you need to fly nonstop. The Mavic Pro will have issues with the controller battery being a limitation, and you will need to improvise to charge it.

Great camera, but you really can't underestimate how important portability is. I've got a phantom 3 pro and spark and the spark gets so much more use (even with the 1080p camera) just because I can bring it everywhere and barely notice I have it in my bag. Wait for Mavic 2 in a month and then decide. These prices and stock aren't going anywhere

This thing is great and takes great video, but I would highly suggest the Mavic Air if portability is a concern.

You need a small suitcase to carry around the Phantom. You can throw an air with all the accessories into a small bag.

The air takes great video (obviously not as good as the Phantom), but unless you're a pro, it's fine.

For some sample footage, search my username Syed117 on youtube. There are 4 test videos. Don't worry, I don't have a youtube channel and it's not monetized.

Taken directly from the drone. No post processing. No real messing with settings. Obviously they need to be dialed in, but you can get an idea of what to expect in less than ideal conditions. This was the first day I had ever taken it out and the first footage I got without ever using a drone or getting more familiar with settings.

Watch in 4K if possible. Shot in 4k24.

Or if you hate the air for some reason, wait for the mavic pro 2, which should be great.

This has a better camera than what you'll find on an $800 Inspire 1, which has the X3 that lost relevance in 2015. You'll probably be spending closer to $3k on the higher end Inspire 1 V2 with the X5 or X5R. Oh, and this has a 30 minute flight time. Inspire 1? 10-12 minutes. And the Inspire 1 literally requires a huge suitcase.
