I believe that this same model was $179.99 w/ads for BF this year. I got one for the misses at that time. Decent deal, just not the lowest it's ever been. I will hold out for when the G6 gets closer to coming out and they really want to get rid of these.

Have they committed to Android 8.1 yet? I think the G6 is imminent.

Does adguard or similar VPN blockers work to kill lockscreen ads?

I don't think this has lockscreen ads, it seems amazon moved away and now just preloads the phone with Amazon apps.. or that's what I inferred from reading about it.

I have one of these phones. Amazon turned off lockscreen ads about a month ago via a software update. It's just like any other phone now.

Good universal phone . FWIW infortunately no Volte on ATT/ Cricket on BYOD phones except iPhones SE and up. This probably doesn't matter to most people but it makes a big diiference for a few of us.

I've had one for a year and like it, but the lack of NFC (and thus no Google Pay) is unfortunate. Also, the camera sucks in anything but bright daylight or indoor light.

I got this on Amazon's BF deal for $179. It's a good phone- not great, but good.

The camera is good, the storage is great with being expandable. People need to remember it's a $200 phone, not $600+ so you're not going to get the best of everything.

The biggest knock I have is the speaker- even at max volume it's not as loud as I'd like. If in an open environment with medium ambient noise (thinking a downtown environment with cars going by) I can't hear the phone clearly.

I had to download a separate app for volume controls as the same volume for phone ringer is the same volume for notification sounds. So the app forces the separate controls, which dramatically helped. I want to be truly notified of a phone call, but not necessarily for every notification.

Processor is pretty good with multitasking- having several apps up and switching between is pretty fluid.

I also have Nova Launch which brings the interface closer to stock Android, and really like the interface after switching from the stock interface.

I just went for the G5s plus version. 32/3GB direct from Motorola for $238 after student discount. I have mixed feelings, but I think that $30 more for bigger screen, dual rear cameras, all metal case, less ram and storage (offset by a micro sd slot) is a tossup—taking out the Amazon bloat.
