I ran out of 9V Duracells for my mother's old handheld radio from the 80s so I purchase a box of these with no expectations, thinking it'll just buy me time till my next trip to Costco. After using a few of them, my mom surprisingly told me they last TWICE as long as the ones we had before (Duracells). She used to change the Duracells out every 10 days, but the Insignias lasted 21 days.

Change the batteries in your smoke detectors!

I may have to grab some of these for the next time mine decide to chirp at 4am.

I think it's testing our alertness. My smoke and carbon monoxide detectors never fails to goes off at 12am - 5am. I don't think it EVER chirped in the afternoon or early evenings. EVER. And it drives my dog insane.

The temperature in your home drops at night, and the lower temperature reduces the battery voltage just that tiny bit more when it's right on the edge of triggering a low battery alert.

Shop at another store other than Best Buy that doesn't use the retail equation to screw over customers on returns.
