FYI, the title is misleading--there is NO AUDIO transfer possible via the VGA port. The OP posts that it is possible via headphone jack or Bluetooth (which is true) however those require compatible devices and/or additional cables.

Even though I'll probably never need one (because I retired all my old monitors that did not have HDMI), I'll give a TU because I've never seen a HDMI to VGA adapter with sound for $4.99 - $1 no rush credit. It might be cool to have 1 in my box o' junk just in case.

Does this work from Roku to a computer monitor with VGA input?

Yes they do. I've got a similar one hooked up to a Roku Stick to my older VGA display right now. Works great.

I've bought several of these, usually around $10-$12 each. so I'm in for yet another "just in case" because I like to keep a couple in my tool box.

Thanks! In that case, in for 1!

Really wish Amazon would fix their reviews. This thing -looks- like it has decent reviews, but most, if not all, of the reviews are for variations of the USB adapter

Thanks OP! Doing some work from home and noticed that my USB-C dock only has one VGA and one HDMI connector.. this should allow me to double up with my VGA monitors. Thanks!

Nice! In for one. My new laptop only has HDMI and I sometimes need to connect to old ceiling mounted projectors that either only have VGA or if they have HDMI it wasn't extended down to the presenter area.

Nice price

Yes! That also, bothers me. They should be forced to put separate products on their own pages or figure out how to show reviews for only the product selected, which seems more difficult.

I don't quite understand the audio part. VGA also carries audio signal in the device?

No. VGA is analog video only. The audio is carried separately. Most of these cheap adapters use the standard 1/8" mini plug for audio return, the more expensive models will have USB Audio capability for a device such as a PC which can send it that way. But you will need a separate audio connection.

Nope, but the source is HDMI which has audio and video, so they put some active electronics to separate out the audio signal and output in on a headphone jack. That's what makes this adapter better than a video only HDMI to VGA.
