Isn't this a decent VR entry point [vrheads.com] for gamer on a budget? I wonder if it's enough power for game development.

I would think it's pretty decent for the price. $280-ish for graphics card alone. The CPU is $160-ish. DDR is $85ish. It's already made its money's worth. Everything else is extra after that.

Was $499 on Black Friday (and my local WalMart had an extra $100 off for some crazy/great reason -- so I bought two!). Would love to get a 3rd one at $399, but not at 522.25.

BTW, we have already had a power supply die (and working through HP support was too painful I I just bought a power supply from Newegg), but given that the original machine was such a good deal for $399, I wasn't too upset.

not a bad price but since refurbed it should be cheaper.

Much better deals will be had later on, and were in the past.

If anyone in the DMV area wants to buy any without the graphics cards, make me an offer.

Totally saw this on Black Friday and should have jumped on it. This is actually the same price as the Black Friday deal if you account to market adjustments between November 2017 and today's market prices for the graphics card.

Here is detailed chart: https://www.pcgamer.com/hang-onto...us-prices/

I plan on upgrading the PSU as well since I'm thinking of sticking a 7700 into it during the summer.

It's luke warm, at best. I'd go for the Dell system posted here with the newer Coffee Lake i8 processor, to be honest, for just a little more $. It's not a terrible deal here, but it's hardly "HOT" by any means.
