Just got the Benq HT2550 with 3D for 1500 or I'd be all over this. Too bad these don't have 3D.

I'm waiting for one of these to hit he sub $1k mark, then I will bite. I have a 6 month old Epson 1080P refurb that I can't justify replacing yet, but it's nice seeing the price come down on these!

Great price on the UHD65 if it were not refurbished. 1 year vs 3 year warranty is kind of a big deal.

I have an Epson Home Theater Projector at 1090P that has had a fantastic picture even close up with a 120 inch screen.

I would like 4K like most of course and without reading up on them that means they have all of the better features with them.

IBeyond that however I still have not seen a lot of content available in true 4K. I think a 4K BluRay disc would have amazing picture and sound but there are just not many movies out there in 4K and not for rent.

The content needs to catch up. If there is 4K being broadcast via cable or otherwise make it very close to the cost of a 1080P then I will jump on the bandwagon.

Right now being able to get things off the internet or DVDXPRESS which has movies a month before RedBox that would be great too.

I am also willing to put up my two additional surround height speakers for Dolby Atmos decoded movies.

Still a really nicely set up 1080P system can be darn good. I have over 8,000 hours of use on my system and it has never had a glitch. I do take care of it and have installed a room air cleaner to keep dust and such out of the air and in my gear as much as possible with HEPA filters and UV light and Negative Ion generators.

For me watching a movie on my screen at home is better than most any movie theater.
Though some theaters are making an effort. Some near me have reserved seating as well as all of the seats have electric recliner action with footrests that come up. By far a much better and more comfortable way to watch a move than the old nasty seats with sticky concrete floors etc. I recall some time back.

Some of the larger 4K LED TV's are getting much cheaper as well. It is the OLED sets that are still priced crazy. They look amazing but certainly cost. So I may buy a 4K flat screen to use also as a monitor for my lap0top which has a graphics card that can support that.
But there is no substitute for size for me once I have experienced and become used to having that 120 inch screen for movies or NFL games or UFC etc.

How important is this? I bought a beat up BenQ W1070 on ebay, stuck a new lamp in it, and I abuse the hell out of it. The bulbs are like 50usd at most. What will happen if I blow compressed air into it to get the dust out? Bad Idea?

Awesome price, been watching this one for a while...

As far as content, sure there's not a lot of movies in 4k yet (only a few dozen true 4k), but for me it's more about the interface on the projector screen being in 4k now (browsing the internet, browsing kodi, documents/spreadsheets, etc)... so yea, excluding movies in 4k, 4k brings me more screen real estate!

I just wish the UHD65 would drop lower :| I'm guessing it should later this year with new 4k projectors coming out

DLP projectors typically have their lens housing sealed, so for the most part, no dust gets in them.

I have a W1070, and knocked it pretty good once and loosened some dust and have blobs now. But just changing the lamp you won't get dust in your lens housing.

LCD projectors you need to worry more about changing their dust filter and keeping it clean.

I'm gonna grab one of these too. After reading reviews here is the quick guide to 60/65

lowest input lag get the 60

Sensitive to color wheel rainbows or better color accuracy get the 65

You may not be into gaming, but I thought I'd point out that the latest versions of the PS4 and the Xbox One support 4k video. Of course, the games need to support it too.
