This is a FP worthy price for the Samsung but two things led me to pull the trigger on the Sony 75X900e that may or may not apply to your situation.

1. According to Rtings the Q7F is an edge-lit TV that has terrible local dimming. I'm not willing to take that much of a picture quality hit for movie watching.
https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/samsung-q7f-vs-sony-x900e/417/418

2. Using a Citi Card you can find places to price protect the Sony for the full $500 back. I'm not seeing anywhere cheaper for the Samsung Q7F.

Bonus reason- I'm really hoping that the Sony goes back down to $1999 soon (but not counting on it).

Both are great TVs and you would be very happy with either. Buy whichever one you can get the best price on.

Is there a way for temporary military membership to get in on this deal then cancel subscription?

Yeah the military's temporary memberships run about 4 years but you should go check out the details at a recruiting station first.

If you were thinking about getting one... the inventory on the product page was updated to say "Hurry, only two items left".

Had no idea how easy sign-up was as a vet. Just give last four, date of birth, and last name, and voila! Thought I was gonna have to dig up my DD-214

I was totally surprised too. I didn't even know they opened up the Exchange to vets so that was a sweet deal alone. I've been watching the price on this TV and snagged one. Lowest price I've found yet. Hopefully the TV meets my expectations. Free shipping, no tax, even better.

Compared this one and MU9000, while brightness is better on Q line, the thin frame made it appear smaller than the larger framed MU9000. I know screen size is the same, but the small frame gave it an illusion of appearing like a 70 in. TV.
