Walmart and Jet.com has Direkt-Tek DTLAPY116-1-SL 2-in-1 Laptop with 11.6" 1080P Touchscreen Display (Windows Ink Support), Atom X5-Z8300 1.44 GHz, 4GB Ram, 32GB eMMC, Active Stylus, 1 Year Office 365 Subscription, 1 Year McAfee AntiVirus Plus, Windows 10 Home 64 Bit @ $139 + F/S.

This is a surprisingly good configuration for the price and comes with pretty decent Build quality. Also, the added software packages like Office 365 Subscription and AntiVirus are almost equal to the price of the device. Added benefit is Windows ink support and inclusion of the Active Stylus.

ORIGINAL POST SPECS ARE WRONG. Listing for 139$ is DTLAPY116-1 not 199$ DTLAPY116-2 also actually on sale
differences are actually:
Wireless NOT AC - IS B/C/N which to me is a deal-breaker as this will be used as mainly a network connected device. AC makes the all the difference in congested areas.
Does not have the pen as noted. Not sure if you can purchase separately.

Drivers for device in case you want to do a clean install of windows (probably recommended that is from actual directect support site is a link to dropbox)

32GB eMMC will be uncomfortable with the major Windows 10 upgrades. Some of the time they cannot even complete due to a lack of storage. And even if it does complete, these SoC sets typically have issues afterward. Save yourself the trouble.

If I pay more can I get it without McAfee?

This sort of laptops are not bad specially if you are somewhat tech savvy. I have a similar laptop that I bought over a year ago out of curiosity.
I got the Nextbook Flexx with 32 gigs or storage and 2 gigs of Ram and an older CPU. The thing had a few annoying habits out of the box. For one it had screen savers that started playing some sort of ads even when the lid was closed. Also once in awhile I got the blue screen of death, even after upgrading to windows 10.
Since last year it has started bugging me to update Windows but it didn't have any storage capacity to do it so it will stop.
I downloaded the latest windows 10 update and created a USB stick to install a clean version of Windows. I also needed a microsd card on top of the memory stick.
The installation went smooth. However I needed to search and install different drivers because the tablet quit rotating the screen when I used it to read.
Thankfully someone uploaded the necessary files and I used those and I'm back to working order.
Ever since the laptop has behaved and I've used it at school. I went back to school to get a second degree so it has been helpful. I really wanted a Microsoft surface but I really can't justify the cost with me owning an older laptop, Chromebook, a newer laptop plus this tablet.
The battery on the tablet lasts a long time even when I leave it in my backpack in sleep mode. I use it at work during my break to catch up on my reading. I have most of my books stored in there (college kids have it so easy nowadays with not having to carry a ton of books on a backpack.).
There have been no more annoying ads, Windows hasn't crashed and I have some storage after uninstalling a lot of junk.
I even let my classmates borrow it a few times because they could not afford the book right away for class.
It is not blazing fast but I can use Office and Chrome with no problem. Netflix also works.
Now I'm talking about an older tablet, this one has twice the memory and a faster CPU.
The build quality on mine is low the keyboard sometimes disconnects by itself but I use it mostly to hold the screen in place and sparingly when I need to type. I would not use this as my main laptop.
For carrying it around in the backpack it has been good for me. The screen quality on my tablet is good for reading.

Seems decent. Basic school work, Netflix, maybe decent for office when hooked up to a external monitor. Wish it had 64gb of storage though, ull only have 10ish gbs free after windows and some basic programs

Yes, it is okay. However, using chrome and opening couple of tabs may slow it down due to chrome's high memory usage. The GPU support 4K and H265 hardware acceleration.

kind of my question too... I'm thinking about sending one to my Grandma so she can skype with my mom. The touchscreen makes it sound like it would be nice for it but I'd really like to see how it responds first
