That's a personal choice that strikes me as a bit strange. China makes some poorly crafted items, but China also has some of the most advanced manufacturing processes in the world. Apple builds in China not for reasons of cost, but because of the concentration of high-tech manufacturing expertise and tooling there. China built the expansion to the Oakland Bay Bridge, shipping the bridge to us by sea in pieces to be bolted together, erector-set style by American union labor (LOL). In the words of the American project director, "I don't think the U.S. fabrication industry could put a project like this together." A bit humiliating, but truth.

Go visit Shanghai. Its infrastructure and planning makes New York City look third world by comparison.

Yes. It was $24 last week. And $30 at target. The "professional" series is very nice. I bought one dec 2016. And it needs to be replaced after burning something in it last week. we use it everyday. So glad I didn't buy it last week.

I have 3 of these pans in different sizes, one I have had for 8 years. They do a great job.

I use metal utensils with them (carefully) and I have not had any problems with the coating.

Maybe they are not the BEST pans in the world but they definitely offer great value. I have some much more expensive pans and I don't see any benefit to spending more money.

There seems to be varying degrees of success with induction cooktops. I'll need to pass.

Made in China. No go for me. Completely a personal choice, but I will not purchase anything that touches what I eat or drink from China... one exception, I couldn't find a pepper mill made elsewhere for less than $150, but I'd replace mine in a heartbeat if I could. YMMV.
That's an odd thing to say
