This is tempting... has a one year warranty, extra battery, case. Pretty solid kit.

I bought the Yuneec Typhoon Q500+ as soon as it was released for like $1400 years ago.

I would take a Phantom 3 regular over it any day of the week. The Typhoon has a bad yellow tint in the video and the camera gimbal does not hold the horizon well at all.

The hand-held attachment for the gimbal is pretty cool, pretty much becomes a low-quality Osmo.

just my my 2 cents.

Thats what I have been trying to figure out other than the obvious wheels and handle.

I have seen some photos of the cases with styrofoam inside....likely what comes with the drone originally. I am hoping for foam like is in a Pelican case.

Here's a review:
https://uasguide.erau.edu/reviews...yphoon-4k/

Strengths:
  • Ready to fly with full system functionality, as purchased (smart-device not needed)
  • Lightweight, given all the provided capabilities
  • High degree of stability, even with GPS disabled and placed in Angle mode; very quiet in operation
  • Excellent ergonomics, well thought out design of controller (e.g., placement and function of engine start, photo, and video buttons, rate and gimbal sliders, and touchscreen), as well as integration of components (smart-device not required for full operational functionality)
  • Solid performer regarding endurance (25 min), pricing ($1,099.98), utility, critical metrics, construction quality, operational ease, accuracy, and user support
  • Battery warning features tactile shaking of the controller, as well as visible alert
  • Detailed documentation provided
Weaknesses:
  • Apparent that weight was a consideration in design, as construction material of some elements (e.g., gimbal and camera housing) appears very fragile
  • No obvious provisions for significant maintenance or repair of components
  • Indoor operations required disabling GPS and flying in Angle mode (not recommended by Manufacturer, results in reduced stability)
  • Control movements result in audible alerts, which can be confusing to a new user
  • Landing can be problematic, as the aircraft rises and falls (i.e., pogo's) several times before finally settling on the ground
  • No-Fly Zone feature helps novices, but substantially limits advanced users

I have one of these. I paid about a hundred more than this about 9 months ago.

It is fragile. A hard landing will break something. You also need to keep it fairly close to maintain good connection. Fairly close is like 1/2 mile. The props also break...easily. They just need to touch something. Also large, too large, with props on it, to be...portable.
But it is easy to fly. It takes good video. It does not need a phone to work, it has a video screen in the remote.

It is, at this price, a bargain. A good entry level way to film in 4K with a drone.

I just got a DJI Mavic Air. WOW, just wow. What a thing.

Any reason why you did not get the Mavic Pro? Besides price, refurb prices are getting low.

Bought it. Seems to be a steal especially considering what it originally cost and the included extras.

The cases are the same except one has wheels and a handle according to Yuneecs customer support.
