need help and opinions on purchasing a new TV

4 10 March 19, 2018 at 06:49 PM
I still have my 50" Samsung Plasma TV I bought in 2007. I'm looking to upgrade but I have no idea what any of this new technology is. Your opinions and knowledge would help me greatly. I'd like to get a tv that's 65" or more. I'd also like to stick with Samsung and possibly LG. The main purpose would be for watching daily television, Sunday football, movies, and some video games. I've watched videos on these new TVs but I just don't understand half of it. Thanks.

I have the Samsung JS8500 in 48 inch and 55 inch. It's a great tv! It's Samsung's 2015 line, which is the last year they added 3D in their TVs, but I don't think you'll be able to buy it anywhere now. Their best 2017 models are the MU9000 and Q7. The Q is supposed to be their top line for 2017. Their 2018 TVs are not out yet, so you should be able to get a great price on the 2017 line now or within the next few months or so.

If you are a Costco member, there's currently a 65" Samsung LCD for $798.99 and a 65" LG LCD for $789.99 - see this link for comparison of the 2 plus a Vizio - https://www.costco.com/ComparePro...,100370294

If you're not going to be playing Blu-ray or 4K content regularly, it won't wow you nearly as much. It's all special crap they make just for demo.

Most recent reason why everyone should be armed at all times:
Santa Fe, TX school shooting. 10 killed 10 wounded.
This was a gun free zone. The shooter didn't care. Gun free zones only hurt honest citizens. If someone was armed there could've been 1 less death.
