One advantage to the subscription is that you get new features automatically.

For example, if you are writing your resume Ms Word can now display resume examples from LinkedIn that closely match your keywords. (Note - this is an opt-in feature). This helped me understand what people in my profession are advertising as keys skills. Better than paying $100+ for a resume service.

You can add (stack) up to 5 years.

Except that this gives 1TB of cloud storage for 5 users. That alone is worth $60 for the year.

Fantastic deal! No surcharge for non-members! Thank you so much, OP! This is the 5-PC version of Office 365. The lowest price I've seen is a bit under $70. This is absolutely the best price I've seen.

Doesn't ant online on ebay have the 12mo 1 user that converts to 9 month 5 user for $35-40? Wouldn't that be cheaper in the long run?

Can you provide a bit more detail? That might work out better price-wise, but there seems a bit of risk involved if that "conversion" policy isn't honored.

Conversely, you can buy Office 2016 suite keys from certain resellers that are for lifetime activation, and cost maybe $10 or a few bucks more. There's also Libreoffice, which should suffice for most people. The biggest thing with using another writer like Libreoffice is that it wants to save in its native .ODT format, which can be a problem if you save a college paper in that format, then try to print that at school. .... Although there are probably .ODT to .DOCX (or .PDF) websites with converters you could find simply by Googling. Just have to be sure to "Save As" in ".DOCX" and you should be fine.

Was just looking at buying a personal. But might do this and see if I have any family members that want a subscription and split the cost.

The subscription models are pretty terrible. Thankfully my university offers permanent installs of 2013 and 2016 for free, though I'm not sure if newer versions are subscription only.

Probably better off to buy the product instead of yearly subscription .

Almost impossible to do that nowadays, like with Quickbooks.

Great deal, I previously bought at Costco, a 2 year deal, but this is one of the best offers I've seen - Re-Upped for another year
