CM500 is a 16 channel modem

I'm stick rocking the CM400, that one's only 8.

people have said this model router of the v6700 is the 'v2' hardware which doesn't have open source firmware support.

I have used the R6700 router and it has worked very well with no issues. I haven't used the CM500 modem myself, but it is rated by The Wirecutter site as the best cable modem for most people.
