I had this for a few months and ended up trading it for the 2nd gen fuel. If you want brushless I'm not sure why you wouldn't pay a little more for more power.

This tool is normally $109, or part of the kit at $269 with the drill/driver plus charger and 2 ah & 4 ah batteries, plus a free 5 ah battery on promo. This is heavier, lacks the mode select features and loses about 300 ftlbs of max torque compared to the current Fuel version.

The trick with these kits is timing the promos right... for example, the $500 Fuel OneKey kit at HD with the impact, hammer drill, sawzal, charger, 2 x 5 ah batteries in a Packout rolling case currently gets a free 9 ah battery. You can return the battery for $118 on the same trip, making the kit $382. Sell the packout case for $100 which puts you at less than $300 for 3 top of the line M18 Fuel One Key tools, two 5 ah batteries and a charger.

The Sawzal easily sells for $100 if you don't need it, leaving you at $200 for the same kit they sell for $400 minus a bag or case. Sell the hammer drill and you are left with a better impact, two 5 ah batteries and a charger for the same $100.

Or you can save yourself the hassle and about a month or so and just keep everything.

True, but the point was that for the same $99 and some extra time/hassle you can get a better impact driver with two high capacity batteries. It won't take a month to sell the individual bits, at a firm asking price of $80 for the case and $100 a pop for brand new One-Key tools they wouldn't last more than 48 hours in this area on Craigslist.

I have an obsession with the Milwaukee tools and I've seen the deal you're talking about didn't realize you could return the battery on the same trip though that's f****** genius!

Is the battery on the receipt seperately for $118? Is it store credit or does it go back on your credit card? I might do this deal. : ) Thanks

You can return the battery using the original form of payment, in my case I got a credit for $118 plus tax back to my Home Depot credit card. Nothing shady involved, the return value of the battery is printed right on the receipt on which you purchased the packout kit.
