PackTowl Personal Microfiber Towels, Various Sizes and Colors Starting at $6.95

Good morning, team. First, a little bit about these towels: These are highly packable, lightweight, and rated as one of the quickest drying towels ideal for camping and traveling. The microfiber fabric is also touted as being tear-resistant, able to absorb roughly 4 times its weight in water, and has an antibacterial treatment to guard against odors. Lastly, these are quite soft to the touch.

My inspiration to check PackTowl out were the last wave of people who Couchsurfed in my home: Two women from Germany, a man from Canada, and a woman from Italy. They all coincidentally had body-sized PackTowls and swore by them.

Additionally, you can read Wirecutter's recommendation here [thewirecutter.com].

I checked the rest of the sizes against CCC, and some of them appear to be down to all-time lows:Pro-Tip: I snagged a PackTowl in blueberry using it as part of an order taking advantage of the $15 off $60 Chase Ultimate Rewards promotion, since these are shipped from and sold by Amazon.

UPDATE: Also on sale is PackTowl's Luxe line, which are at or near all-time low prices per CCC:According to Wirecutter, you're sacrificing a little bit of packability and lengthening your dry times in favor of plusher and more luxurious feeling material if you opt for these Luxe towels over the Personal line.

UPDATE #2: Out of curiosity, I went to PackTowl's website and saw that they had a total of 5 lines: Personal, Luxe, UltraLite, Nano, and Original. Looks like PackTowl's UltraLite line is also on sale and at all-time lows (Nano and Original are not). I can't vouch for this line, however, nor could I find as many data points about as I did on the Personal line. You can check it out for yourself here [amazon.com].

Very overpriced. are they better than the normal microiber travel towels that sell for around 10?

for example, https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...1521814450

A cursory review online shows that PackTowl appears to consistently be in the conversation for the best quick-drying towel across a smattering of blogs and product review publications. Spogear has not appeared on any of the ones I've looked at so far, which leads me to suspect it might be an inexpensive off-brand version/knockoff.

As a result, I can't speak to Spogear's efficacy compared to the more vetted PackTowl.

I travel internationally extensively, and the only convenient travel towels I've use over the years hands down, are the ones made by PackTowl or sea to summit brand.

I see, name brand vs generic.

The luxe model looks interesting, will have to try one. They dont look like any of the "generic" brand ones I have bought before.

edit: looks like amazon has the luxe ones on sale for same price with prime shipping.

Great catch; I didn't know this Luxe line existed. I updated the OP.

Can't decide between lux and the standard for travel (no backpacking, or anything crazy like that). Lux for comfort? Better than using a friend's towel or hotel (to make sure they're actually cleaned)

I have a packtowel robe. Super light weight, quick drying and doesn't take up much space.

These are a couple dimes cheaper at REI. In addition to that, members get a 20% off one item discount good till 4/9.

Edit: they're from REI Garage so it's online only, in which case it's free shipping over $50. If you're close to an REI b&m, you can purchase $50 for free shipping and return in store. May or may not be worth the hassle for an extra 20% off.

I actually go with a swim towel, they hold a ton of water and are great for the evaporative cooling affect. Only downside is that they dry out to be really hard towels. But then I plan a lot of my hiking and camping around water sources so it's always handy. They are around this price as well.

Seems they must be going to release new product lines or something since so many places have them for about the same price right now.
