Update: This deal is dead! The price is now $6.50. As per usual, many of the best deals I post do not last long after people start ordering, as Amazon's system will make automatic adjustments.

----------

Hello, I hope you are doing well.

Amazon.com [amazon.com] has 12-Pack Clinch-It Bag Sealer Closure Sticks for $2.86. Shipping is free with Prime or with a $25+ order. This is an Add-on Item, so it generally will only ship with a qualifying $25+ order (see below on how to bypass the Add-on Item requirement).

Click here for a YouTube video showing how the product works [youtube.com].

Bypass Requirement for Add-on Items
Note: Prime membership is required.
  1. A device with Alexa is needed. If you don't have an Echo or similar standalone device, download the free Amazon Music app on a smartphone (Android [google.com] or iOS [apple.com]).
  2. On your desktop computer or a smartphone, add this product to your shopping cart.
  3. In the smartphone app, click on Alexa on the bottom right corner.
  4. Say, "Order Clinch It Sealer." (tip: pause between "Clinch" and "It" so Alexa can better understand you)
  5. Alexa should respond with the item's full name, and state the price, with sales tax included, then ask, "Would you like to buy it?"
  6. If the price is correct, say, "Yes," to place the order.
Product Description
  • Set of 12 includes 4 sizes: small 4", medium 6.25", large 8", & extra-large 10.25"
  • Locks out air & moisture to preserve your items in storage
  • 100% Food Grade, Freezer & Fridge safe, and durable strong plastic
  • Perfect for Chips, Crackers, Marinating Meats, Leftover Soups, Salads, Dressings, Vegetables, etc.
  • Dishwasher safe & reusable
Product Ratings
Price Research
  • The two most popular brands that make this type of product are GripStic [amazon.com] and Clinch-It. There are also numerous generic Chinese manufacturers that sell bag sealer sticks, and they are available on sites like Ali Express [aliexpress.com] and Amazon. This deal beats even the pricing of generic, inferior versions that will take more than a month to be delivered from China.
  • This product's regular price is $6.99. In the last 15 days, there have been at least 25 price drops (source). This product's price may continue to drop, but it seems to have stabilized for the most part, which makes it an ideal time to buy.
  • This product is currently $6.50 at Walmart.com [walmart.com].
  • This product is currently $6.99 on Amazon.com, as sold by third-party merchants [amazon.com].
  • Amazon.com sells other unit quantities of this product for much higher prices: $10.99 for a 24-pack and $14.99 for a 36-pack.

Thanks, got it using the Music app.

just an FYI...might be my speaking not clearly enough, but you might want to try saying "Clinch" and "it" separately with a pause in between so Alexa can understand you better. It wouldn't understand me when I said "Clinch-it" all as one word.

another way is to add it to your shopping cart first (using mobile app or website) then ask Alexa to look for bag sealer and it will search your cart first.

Thanks for all the reports that this deal has died.

As per usual, many of the best deals I post do not last long after people start ordering, as Amazon's system will make automatic adjustments.

I probably spent more time writing this deal than the time it stayed alive... haha. I started writing this deal four days ago when I noticed constant price drops, and today, I figured the price has stabilized enough for it to be posted.

I did have it in my cart. That's where it found it when I finally tried it with the pause in between. I figured I was not saying correct in Alexa's eyes (ears?) when she would repeat something that sounded similar but like if she heard me incorrectly.

Again, could juts be my dialect.

Yup. Step 2 of my instructions above is "add this product to your shopping cart." It makes it easier for Alexa to identify.

It initially took me a few tries before Alexa understood me, too.

Bonus tip: After the product has been added to your shopping cart, ask Alexa, "What's in my shopping cart?" When she responds to let you know, try to remember how she says the words and in what tone. If you later say it back as similarly as possible, there's a higher chance of her understanding you. (Asking Alexa what's in my cart is how I figure out the best words to use when placing the order. Alexa often does not understand if you use the full product name, such as "Order Clinch-It Bag Sealer Closure Sticks (Set of 12), Multicolor.")

I hope this helps!
