Elac Uni-Fi UB5 Bookshelf Speakers ($350/Pair on Amazon)

Amazon [amazon.com] has the Elac Uni-Fi UB5's for $150 off their usual $499 price right now on Amazon ($350/pair). Regarded as some of the best $500 bookshelf speakers out there right now. This is the lowest price as per CCC. No longer available

These are 3-way speakers that use a concentric tweeter and mid-range driver assembly and a separate bass assembly.

There is also a Used - Very Good for $315. You can see these at this page [amazon.com]. No longer available

In addition, the Elac Debut F5 tower is on sale for $230 [amazon.com] and the Elac Debut B5 is on sale for $200 [amazon.com] (Both $30 Off). This might be because of the release of the debut 2.0 line recently. Although some people who have heard the Debut 2.0 say they are pretty different from the original Debut series (Brighter sound).

There has beenafurther price drop and these are now $350, the lowest ever on CCC. Great speakers for $350. One thing you might want to consider is these have pretty low sensitivity (85db, 4ohm) so you will need a good amp to drive these to their potential. Other than that, at $350 these would be the best bang for your buck speakers imo.

If you have discover cash back, you can price match these at crutchfield. Then use the discover cash back to buy crutchfield coupons at a further 20% discount, bringing the price of these to $280 in discover cashback.

Get em! I returned a pair of $700 B&W speakers that didn't sound as good. Your ears will appreciate it

These are pretty low sensitivity, 4ohm and 85db/w. You also don't want to be operating your amp constantly at max power. I would think an amp rated at 125 wpc or higher should work really well. Not to say that these won't work with something like 75 wpc but if you want the best of out of these, spend a bit more on the amp.

I understand this offer's over but what were you saying about using Discover to buy Crutchfield coupons? I have a Discover It card in its 1st year but I don't see any Crutchfield benefits to take advantage of.

You can use your discover cash back to buy Crutchfield coupons. Go to the cash back redemption page in your discover account and you'll be able to purchase a $100 Crutchfield coupon for $80 in cash back. If you want to use multiple of these coupons, you'll need to place an order over the phone as you can only enter one when you place a order via their website.
