Cameras are nice but almost useless without Nest Aware subscription which is more money.

No i confirmed with google. it records 24/7. it alerts you on motion, but recording is non stop.

uses up to much bandwidth if you have a cap from your ISP. Each camera can eat up 150-300GB of data. I get 1TB per month. I have nest doorbell and if I add 2 more cameras i can possibliy use up all my bandwidth.

Ring is better in this sense because Ring only records on motion, just their hardware blows at least with cameras. You get a 5lb brick handing off your house.

I agree. We have one indoor camera and only paid for the Nest Aware when we would go on vacation and wanted recordings. They have at least improved a bit on that aspect with giving you still photos of motion activity but for only the last 24 hrs. I think you can download those still photos, haven't tried it though.

What's the issue with 24/7?

I actually don't think it works like that at all. I believe the camera start recording when they detect motion
