Main Home Depot Daily Deal Page [homedepot.com]

Many more handsets on main page.

Asked Amazon for price match. There were a lot more kwikset zwave and door handles on Amazon than last time. But almost all the Schlage zwave handsets on Home depot were featured on Amazon. I hope for you Amazon fans that most of these Home depot handsets are matched on Amazon. No comparable Baldwin sets appeared on the Amazon assistant app. Happy Buying!

Some FAQ for the schlage connect lock:

Does it work as a standalone lock?
Yes, but you need a zwave hub to remote control it, smartthings, wink. etc.

Does it work with google home or alexa?
You can ask alexa to lock it via your connected hub, but not unlock it. Google home doesn't support it natively, but you could make it work using a virtual switch/scene via your hub.

Can I get a passcode deleted automatically after it's been used?
Smartthings doesn't support this, only manually set/delete a code. But you could use some 3rd party smart apps and device handlers. Not sure about other hubs though.

BTW, the motor is loud in my opinion Smilie.

Yes, they seem to. To just explain it, the "handedness" of a door is based on the hinges and you on the outside looking in (keyed part). So, if you are outside, getting ready to put the key in to unlock the door ... the side of the hinges is the "handedness" of the door. Also, in the case of these handles, the handles will point toward the hinges. So, if you are outside and the hinges are on the left side, then your door is a left swing. Get the handle for the "left handed" door. Vice versa ...

Hope this helps.

I've been waiting for this to come back to get the Schlage Sense (HomeKit Ready) but sadly they don't appear to be included this time around.

Yeah I was looking for either brand that was Apple
HomeKit compatible. Doesn't look like they are included.

I missed it last time. This is a damn good lock. Only problem is you may have to do some extra work to install the door strike. Because it's supposed to be higher security, it uses some really long screws that go into your door frame. The door strike is also 2 plates, so you may have to use a chisel to make the door strike to fit.

You can rekey the cylinders. There are some good YouTube videos out there. To summarize, you get the cylinder out, put in the matching pins (the pin sizes are on the key). Or you can pay a locksmith to do it.

Is the Schlage a better buy than Kwikset (z-wave models)?

Do these need a specific Hub to work with Alexa or do they work by themselves by adding the skill?
