Got this for my aunt end of last year from Costco.

Pros: Good image quality with wide viewing angles, HDR10 on all hdmi inputs once configured in settings, surprisingly decent built in speakers, Dolby Vision

Cons: slow operating system and buggy apps

If hooking up to external devices like Roku, video console, etc this unit is great deal. If you plan to use tv built in apps, it will try your patience.

I picked this model up from costco just a few weeks ago. There really aren't any actual tech reviews or videos of this unit at all but I thought I'd take a gamble. Solid TV for the price point, but if you're looking to benefit from 4K or HDR/ Dolby Vision or the Wide Color Gamut you may as well go for another set. The TV just doesn't get bright enough or have enough contrast to make any of it noticeable.

Used it with an Apple TV 4K and was really struggling to see that "pop" in color and contrast you'd expect from HDR/ DV sources. 4K is definitely an improvement from HD. I watched all the 4K DV I could consume for about a week but couldn't see much of an improvement. I compared Planet Earth II side by side with my old Vizio 1080p and it is a noticeable upgrade in clarity but I had to keep checking if Dolby Vision was really on because I wasn't seeing a huge night and day improvement.

Aside from that, menus can be frustrating. Audio is decent but sound a bit subpar. Smart apps you want are there but are a big sluggish.

If you're interested in the 4K, might be better to go for the 55" TCL S403/405 going for around $350 instead for similar/better performance on a bigger screen. If you're looking for HDR/ Dolby Vision though, gotta go up in price point a bit. I ended up taking mine back and going for a Vizio M-Series.

I have the Black Friday Wal-Mart 55" 4k without HDR and I can say it's pretty decent l, some colors seem over saturated but you fix that. I use a fire stick to watch PlayStationVue and the quality isn't on par as watching it on my TCL with Roku but the antenna channels are better quality on the Phillips. Overall I would say give it a try if you are in need of a set immediately or have a limitedbudget you can always return if needed.

Same price at Costco. Reviews are not flattering.
