Enrollment limited. Must first add offer to Card and then select that Card when you make a purchase with Apple Pay in order to redeem. Offer valid only for a qualifying purchase made with your enrolled American Express Card using Apple Pay on your eligible mobile device by 8/29/2018. Offer valid at in-store and in-app merchant locations that accept the American Express® Card in the fifty United States, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands with point-of-sale terminals that process Apple Pay transactions. If you cannot use Apple Pay for the purchase for any reason, your purchase will not qualify for the offer. Offer is non-transferable. Only US-issued American Express Cards are eligible for this offer. Limit $10 in total statement credits per American Express online account. Purchases to meet the spend requirement of this offer do NOT include fees or interest charges, purchase of travelers checks, purchase or reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards, person-to-person payments, or other cash equivalents. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 8/29/2018, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items from your qualifying purchase have been provided/shipped by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer. Apple Pay works with iPhone 6 and later in stores, apps, and websites in Safari; with Apple Watch in stores and apps (requires iPhone 6 or later); with iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation), iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3 and later in apps and websites in Safari; and with Mac (2012 or later) in Safari with an Apple Pay–enabled iPhone or Apple Watch. It's a BCE. IMO card type is very low in AmEx's targeting scheme of things.
