edit: Question for either of you. Sounds like you have been to Malta, how much time would you recommend is needed to explore the islands? I am thinking of possibly making a side trip from Italy, before heading to Greece.

edit2: It looks like a nice small island, and the popeyes village definitely got my attention, but curious what other (if any) main tourist spots must see is there? and just for reference, I may likely going to rome, naples/pompeii, greece (athens, santorini, mykonos)

Malta is a nice country to visit but there is not too much going on like in Athens or Rome. I stayed for four or five days, which was more than enough for me in early spring because it was not very warm. My favorite area was Valletta because if the history and the lay of the city. The harbor tour around Valletta and Sliema is worth doing but can cause seasickness depending on the current. If one is interested in sunbathing, a trip to one of the other islands can be made for a day but the decision is individual. Know that Malta is just as expensive as Britain but well worth visiting,

thanks for your input, ill have to reconsider whether it's worth making a detour or stop over. I'll admit that popeye village did get my attention, but not sure it's worth the time and effort
