as a Tron fan this Lego set looks amazing. This will be my first foray into Lego ideas and Exclusive sets from them. Doing some quick research I came across this on the Lego ideas blog,

"This set is currently an exclusive to LEGO Brand stores, Certified stores and our online store but will be available through other retailers in 3 months"
- HasanJensen (Mod and part of the Lego ideas team)

I have a quick question for someone with experience with the Lego Ideas. When this set is more widely available in 3 months will we expect a similar price point?

Thank you!

I have been reading similar

User Sleepy17 on the Lego ideas blog suggested that if you factor or value $3 for each figure you are getting each piece for roughly $0.11

Math Skillz: $35.00 / 230 pieces = $0.15 / piece
$35.00 - $3.00 (Sam Flynn) - $3.00 (Quorra) - $3.00 (Rinzler) = $26.00
$26.00 / 230 pieces = $0.11 / piece

again this is assuming each figure carries a value of $3.00

Maybe a lower price point. Walmart had the Women of NASA set for 20% off when they got it a few months after it was released. It's popped up on SD a few times.

Maybe. The "rare" sets weren't THAT rare after a short waiting period. Even th UCS Falcon has come up on Amazon, Walmart, and Target.

I'm waiting for 20% off at a minimum. Very overpriced out of the gate!

Yeah these minifigs will be parted out for $10-20 each. Sad but true.

Licensing. This is Disney. I'm surprised this even got to the retail arena.

This kit is WAY over priced as others have said. As much as I want to jump on this. I'll wait until it's available at local retailers.

If you are a premier member (or whatever it is called) you can get 15% off on select shopping days at official Lego stores. One is coming up in April.

Women of NASA has been frequently on sale likely because Lego overproduced it. The original Women Scientist set sold out quickly. Lego fixed that, but overcompensated.

It all comes down to how many Tron fans Lego thinks there are. Recent Ideas sets have been widely available for discounted prices, so it seems likely this one will be too, especially since it seems overpriced, even with a Disney tax.

Had it been $24.99, I would have bought it already.
