Solid deal - 3D, HDR, 4K.... hits all the check boxes.

I don't understand folks that complain about no smart features/apps. Like they want a 4k BR player and thus have a 4k TV, but somehow don't have a Smart TV, Dont have a Roku/Apple TV, Dont have Chromecast or a Firestick. Hell, they dont have a Media PC or a modern Video game console.... Nope, they just want to be able to login into their Netflix account from 3 different HDMI inputs....idiots.

Unfortunately they just raised the price from $79.99 to $99.99 before they came out with this deal.

Yeah, its basically the same price now with a student discount as it was a week ago for everyone. its was a 20+ TD deal then and it should still be one now.

That said, when I last signed up for student deals at BB they asked what school and when I anticipate graduating, but I don't recall ever actually having to verify that. Definitely don't ask for anything Unidays or even your EDU email address. So..... maybe anyone can still get this.

Any opinions on the PQ/AQ in comparison with the Xbox One S? I'm debating taking advantage of the current GameStop offer and selling my One S since I haven't really been gaming on it. But if this is a downgrade, I'll just keep my Xbox.

Thanks in advance!! ♥

Your Xbox One S will have support long after LG dumps this thing, which will probably be a year from now. The only reason to get a different 4K player is if you need one with Dolby Vision.

Thanks so much for the reply!!

I'm fine without Dolby Vision. I was just hoping to get a cheaper player that's comparable to make a little money with the trade-in.

Well, my Xbox One S has turned into a crap fest with HDR, regular Blu Rays play fine and in fact, look BETTER than the 4k ones. Grey, washed out scenes are the norm and they didn't use to look like that.

This is, apparently an ongoing thing. https://www.forbes.com/sites/john...0d0ea02bde

I am beyond ticked off with Microsoft right now. I own a Sony 65X850D and a Yamaha RX V683 with proper 6 foot-cables and all the 4k options are lit up green when you check the settings. I no longer trust the Xbox 4K player AT ALL.
