Fix flyaways (at least prevent them) by fixing the antenna on the TX. It uses a cheap really small piece of wire as an antenna. You can scavenge a "real" 2.4ghz antenna off an old wifi router, or buy one from amazon. Soldering it in place is a really easy task. After that, DONT IGNORE THE FLASHING LIGHTS. When all 4 lights flash the copter is getting out of range. At the edge of the range you will still have some control. CUT THE THROTTLE.

Flyaways happen for one simple reason: the drone doesn't have a good way to know what to do when signal is lost. Should it drop to the ground? (probably but that's just me) Should it bank and fly in a circle? Should it to the Macarena? Well this guy responds to lost signal by assuming the inputs haven't changed at all. So if you were taking it up and it loses signal, guess where it thinks it should keep going? Yes, up! If you were fighting the wind a little to hold it stationary, it keeps that angle of attack too, so it could end up darting off into the sunset if the wind changes.

Great starter drone. Ya just can't fly in the wind and get that high or else it goes bye bye. You can buy like a 5 pack of batteries for $20.

fly away happened to me too. Wonder if there is a way (other than not flying too high) to prevent that. Maybe add a little weight....Anyone know?

^ Interesting... I should make a 2.4ghz jammer and wait for someone to fly one of these.
I bet the FCC would really love that.
