No. The Sony 900e is an amazing TV. This LG SJ8000 is not even 4k. It is garbage RBGW and is technically only 2.8k.

To go from a very good Sony 900e to a bottom tier LG SJ8000 is an extremely unfortunate move. It would be like going from a BMW 5 series to a Chrysler 200.

It's a decent TV, just not as good as Sony X900s and Vizio P/M series

I was pricing TV's out for a few weeks and using rtings.com. These TV's do rate higher and are likely better TVs for roughly $300-500 more. They are consistently a higher pricepoint than the LG I posted. Anytime you spend 30-50% more on an item, you'd expect a better product, no?

Does anyone know if this uses the RGBW pixel structure as other LG led tvs? (Aside from their OLEDs)

All the 2018 lines are coming out now or will be in the next few months, so they're clearing up space for them.

I guess so. Nothing wrong with this deal you posted. LGs are excellent as OLEDs btw.

Quickly looking through SD, You could get Sony 65in X900E or Vizio P65-E1 for ~$1000 plus tax. It's not that much higher, and you get all the bells and whistles like dolby vision

P.S. TCL is coming out with new 65in model soon (next month?)
