I'm starting to feel like the odd man out because I loved homecoming. It's the first recent superhero movie thats felt like the slice of life comics series, with the exception of ant-man which I also loved. If the first two Raimi Spider-man movies were the Steve Ditko stuff, Homecoming would be the newer Bendis and Ultimate spider-man stuff I like. Keaton was awesome, movie was great. I hope they do more down to earth marvel movies and less end of the world stakes stuff.

Thanks OP!

Yeah you'd think so with how well it was received but most of my friends and people I talk to online said they didn't like it because it was too teenagery and not epic enough.

Exactly, Amazon had it for $5 couple of days back. Btw, is the 3D edition worth it?

I thought it was the best one BECAUSE it was teenagery... Spider-Man IS a teenager and this was more like he was in the comics I remember.

This kid is perfect for the role Spiderman. Was great in the Avengers movie and made this Spiderman the best one to date, IMO. Would pick this up if I didn't already own it.

I'd hardly say you're an odd man out considering the love it got from audiences and critics?

I feel like the odd man out because I thought it was fun but not nearly as memorable as the first two Raimi movies. But I think a large part of that is simply the over kill of comic book movies in the last decade; the Raimi movies stood out more because they were unique and didn't arrive during an over saturated market. As fun as Homecoming was, it was quickly left in the rear view by films such as Thor 3, which was in turn left in the dust by Black Panther. The over saturation of quality genre films has rendered most of them disposable, which is a weird thing to complain about.

However compared to the two Amazing Spiderman movies, Homecoming is in a whole other league. And I admire that they tried to do something new with it which was to basically transplant Spiderman into a John Hughes comedy.
