I think this is kinda hot.

Alaska Airlines announced earlier today that they were launching nonstop flights between New York City (JFK) and San Jose CA (SJC) beginning July 6th. I checked a few dates and see that there are $246 round trip airfares available, with one right smack in the middle of Summer. You won't find this airfare anywhere else so I suggest you grab it before seats are sold out.

Edit to Add: By the time I was done creating this post, DELTA AIRLINES matched or better with a $237 fare, however it's their basic economy fare. Dates will reflect for both airlines.

Travel Availability:
Departs JFK: July 16; Aug 30, 31; Sept 1, 5, 7-15, 17-22, 24-26, 28-30; Oct 2-3, 6, 9-13, 16-20, 23, 27, 30; Nov 2-3, 622, 29-30; Dec 1, 4-5

Departs SJC: July 9; Aug 9,, 14-15, 18, 21; Sept 5-8, 10-15, 17-26, 29; Oct 2-3, 5-6, 9-13, 16-20, 23, 25-27, 30; Nov 3, 7, 22-23, 28-30; Dec 3-6

Use dates and book on your favorite OTA such as Priceline [priceline.com], Expedia [expedia.com] or directly with Alaska Airlines [alaskaair.com]. Bundling hotel with airfare will save money.

I run several AirBnBs in Jersey City if you'd consider that area. Not offering my own since they'll probably get booked, but supply of AirBnB's in that area is rapidly growing and people are often surprised to discover we're closer to the city than Queens or Brooklyn very often (10-15 minutes door to door to world trade center via PATH train, 15-30 min door to door to Empire State building) You should consider it if you get the flight!

$242-$160 = $82

If time machine fights cost less than $82 it's a better deal to go back in time and fly

I appreciate all of the SJC deals you post since that's my home airport. Keep it up!

That's a great price! Of course, lodging deals are much harder to find in NYC (and actually in the Bay Area).

Works into 2019. Was able to replicate for flight leaving JFK on 01/25/2019 and returning from SJC on 01/28/2019. FYI.

Also, since these are Airbus A320's, I'm assuming it's the Virgin America fleet they'll be flying on this route?
