That is the fuel combo kit. It says "brushless" meaning that it's the fuel. The hackzall isn't the fuel I think.
You are wrong, milawaukee offers brushless tools outside FUEL branding too. Tools with FUEL branding have their best brushless motor while tools like this contain their regular brushless motors.

Negative. There are 4 models. Brushless, Fuel, Fuel wifi and Fuel Surge. 2750, 2753, 2757 and 2760.

This is not fuel. Only brushless.

All the fuel tools are brushless but not all the brushless tools are fuel.

The biggest advantage of the non-Fuel brushless M18 tools is increased battery on both tools, and a slight decrease in dimensions/weight (particularly with the drill-driver).

Assuming the brushed tools are the baseline, the "brushless" non fuel version of the drill is actually smaller (3/4" shorter) AND lighter (.3-.4 pounds) than both the brushed and FUEL variations, with the same level of performance as the the brushed version.

Same basic story with the impact driver, however the "brushless" model is a full pound heavier than the FUEL variations, but slightly shorter than the brushed version.

Honestly, before ordering this I'd probably see if your local Home Depot has the compact Makita 3-piece kit for $210 as has been mentioned in another deal thread, better tools for a few bucks less: https://slickdeals.net/f/11370667-makita-drill-impact-driver-recip-saw-w-2-batteries-and-charger-210

Otherwise this isn't a bad buy for a M18 kit that's couple steps up from the basic homeowner grade stuff.

Wondering why you feel Makita drills are better than Milwaukee? According to this video [youtube.com] and this article [thesawguy.com] the Milwaukee drill showed better performance vs. the Makita.

Thanks,

Lets skip the straw man arguments, particularly when the examples you provided don't even refer to the same tools we're talking about in this deal (the FUEL line, not the plain brushless version in the M18 line, is compared to standard size Makita tools in your examples...)

I did not say Makita tools are better than Milwaukee, I am, in fact, personally invested in the Milwaukee M18 Fuel/OneKey line exclusively in my own shop. I indicated that the specific Makita kit that is a YMMV deal at $210 was probably a better deal than the specific bundle of Milwaukee tools in the combo that is the subject of this thread.

This deal is for the non-FUEL Brushless MIlwaukee M18 drill + impact driver (performance equal to the brushed versions) + the brushed Hackzall with a set of smaller batteries. Compare this to the compact and fully Brushless Makita LXT 3-pc kit with a pair of small form factor 2.0 ah batteries for $210 at some Home Depot stores. They are both great brands, but the Makita tools in this combo are a premium small form factor + brushless design (similar to the Milwaukee M12 Fuel line) but utilizing the more flexible 18v battery platform.

I understand though I was going off of your statement that said: "both the brushed and FUEL variations, with the same level of performance as the the brushed version."

So I assumed that I could compare a Fuel Milwaukee version to the Makita kit that you mentioned since you suggested that the Fuel and the Brushless had the same level of performance (maybe I misinterpreted what you meant).

That being said when one compares apples to apples between the two kits:

Milwaukee Hammer Drill (27020-20) vs. Makita XFD11 Drill
Milwaukee has higher torque (500lbs vs. 350lbs) and higher RPM (1800 RPM vs 1700 RPM)

Milwaukee Impact Drill (2750-20) vs. Makita (XDT15)
Milwaukee has higher torque 1,500 lbs vs 1,240lbs) but lower RPM (2800 RPM vs 3000 RPM)

Milwaukee HACKSAW (2625-20) vs. Makita Reciprocating Saw (XRJ07ZB)
Same RPM (up to 3,000RPM); Makita has longer stroke length (13/16" vs 3/4")

The Milwaukee kit comes with a 2Ah & a 4Ah battery vs. 2x 2Ah batteries for Makita. The warranty for the Milwaukee is 5 years vs. 3 years for Makita.

The difference in price for Milwaukee kit is $229 (available now) vs. Makita Kit is $210 (very YMMV).

I guess I'm saying that I don't understand why you believe that the Milwaukee it is not worth $19 more than the Makita kit. The addition of a 4Ah battery with the Milwaukee kit alone easily washes out the $19 difference between the two kits. Moreover both the hammer and impact drills have higher torque than the Makita.
