This seems like a great deal for a gaming monitor. What am I missing?

Ya, would rather have 144 but at $132 after tax I can live. Has every other feature I want in a monitor but at least $100 cheaper.

This is ~$65 cheaper than B&H Photo. I'd say this is a decent deal.

EDIT: and about $50 less than Amazon as of 4/5/18 11:29PM CDT.

How does this compare to the dell ips model that came up for the same price? This one has a vesa mount and dell doesn't. So leaning towards getting this one. Should I hold back because of the tn panel. I will mostly be using this for work along with another 29" Lg ips monitor

This is an entry level gaming monitor and would probably not be very good for editing photos. Gaming monitors are more about faster response times and higher refresh rates which and with less concern for color accuracy. Generally if you want something for editing photos you are better off with a monitor that has an IPS panel and not a TN panel like this monitor.

1920 x 1080 ... Pass!
Agree, I made that mistake and regret it. 1920x1080 is too low for 27"

I don't know. With this resolution everything is blown up bigger. The ones we use in the office for programming have higher resolution so you can fit more realestate of the code but everything is smaller size too. If you are older with poorer vision, than this may work for you.
