For an idea of what an Echo Dot costs
Amazon Prime Day $29
Cheapest Amazon Deals - two for $50

Amazon Fire Tablet HD 10 32Gb
Cheapest Target Nov27 $80.74
Cheapest Amazon - do search on Slickdeals around $120

So not the worst deal

Prime Day is in July I think.

There would hardly be anything to post if we made it a rule that every deal has to beat Black Friday or Prime day prices. These postings still have value for people who happening to be in the market for one, and don't want to wait.

This might be a decent deal for those of us who still have the $50 Echo promotion from the Audible deal:

https://slickdeals.net/f/11375895-1-year-audible-audiobooks-membership-50-off-amazon-echo-device-99-50

However, when I check out the $50 credit doesn't appear on this combo, though it does if I have any individual Echo device to my cart.

I'd say this combo would be better in most respects, if the Audible credit applied, compared to the Echo Show which was $159 a few days ago. For example, you can play Netflix on the Fire tablet but not (easily) on the Show.

Fire tablets are going to be a lot less useful now that Google has increased restrictions on unauthorized devices using the Google Play Store.

I use this to install Google Play on Amazon Fire Tablet:
https://www.howtogeek.com/232726/...re-tablet/

Some Android apps buggy or do not work on Fire Tablet. Most I use do. I can make WIFI phone calls, check cameras around the home, most anything an Android phone can do.

well, fire tablets do not use google play store anyway, they use amazon play store. yes, there is a work around to get google play but for most users, they are unlikely to jailhouse rock the biotch anyway...so your point is moot......
True they use the amazon app store by default, but it seriously lacking in comparison to the Google play store. The best way to access most apps on fire tablets (of which we own 3 different models) was by sideloading the Play store. This didn't really require anything more complicated than downloading an apk. That won't really be an option anymore. Do fire tablets still have a market? Sure, but that wasn't my statement. Now that access to the Google Play store will be restricted, that lack of access to apps will severely limit the utility of fire tablets for many users.

Yes, I agree. I bought a Fire HD 8 a couple of months ago based on the fact that I could install Google Play store apks. At this time I would not buy another Fire HD. Try this for more information https://android.gadgethacks.com/n...s-0183744/

Some inaccurate posts SlickDeals. Not first hand knowledge and not verified by actually trying it out. I read these many times when it comes to Amazon products. It is very hard to read good posts to make an inform purchase when the thread is cluttered with unrelated and inaccurate posts.

Not a deal imho. My son got a fire hd 8".
And it was a pita to get it to work like a nornal tablet.

Too much integration with amazon i don't care for.

Rather jist pau a little more for a "real tablet" than spend hours fighting it to wprk loke my other tablets

Please read it carefully. It clearly says from the description "Save: $49.99"
Also please read the title carefully.
