I have a E-Gift card from a Marlboro contest, I do not want to buy a Walmart GC. I would like to know how to use it at any store, is there a way to do this? I don't like Target, and I checked Petsmart and they charge 49 Cents to get one there. Thank You for any help that you know of. Applause

Whenever I win e-gift cards, I always use them for online purchases. There is usually an email you receive with a link to claim an e-gift card...from there I always print out any "fine print" information so I know the details on everything from claiming and how to use and where to use to expiration dates, etc. Most times the e-gift cards are a Visa or MC which can be used mostly everywhere...you post is a bit confusing...are you trying to use the e-gift card you won to purchase a store specific gift card?

Thanks for the reply, I usually go to the Walmart web page and buy one of theirs, but I was wondering how to use it in a store. The Marlboro page sent my info for the card to a Reward Center, and I set up may account, I don't know if I can print out the card information from the Reward page or not. I guess I will go to the page and start looking for information on how to use it.
Thank You for trying to help me out! Applause

Hi fillygirl,

it sounds like you got a digital reward for a card like Visa or Mastercard. Usually these types of cards can only be used for online purchases; they can't be used in brick and mortar stores. However, sometimes you have the option to pick either a digital (online only) card or a actual card (which will be snail mailed, and can be used in stores, but may also have a service fee taken out)

I hope this makes sense laugh out loud

Yes, you are correct, I went to the Reward site and read all the tips and it is exactly what you said. I was confused because I won 2 E-GC this week, one was a Master card & the other was the Visa online purchase type, this was the first time I had gotten one of those. I decided to go to Walmart's site & buy one of their cards. I'll buy cat food with it. Thanks for all the help from everyone, I now know what to do with both types. Applause

OP used hers already, but I'll share anyway. We usually use them for bills we can pay online that no cards are offering bonus points for at the time. That almost always ends up being home or car insurance, but sometimes utility bills. For physical gift cards we often use them for doctor/dentist co-pays which also almost never have bonus points on rewards cards.

One thing I sometimes do with smaller E cards (VISA/MC without physical card to redeem in-store) is just use them to add credit to my Amazon account (reload balance). I know I'll use it there eventually.
