And do what with a locked iPhone?

See what Verizon did there...

Isn't this normally $199 ? Doesn't seem like that slick of a deal

*nm , I guess ATT just does occasional $200 promos on the prepaid SE

Didn't think Verizon locked their phones.

All Verizon prepaid phones are locked. You need to have them on service for a year or so to be able to get them unlocked. So these are not worth it.

Supposedly iOS 10. I find that a little hard to believe.

EDIT: Actually, I guess that's not too crazy. I was getting mixed up with macOS 10.13 and thinking we were on iOS 13 and not 11. Whoops.

And CDMA means you can't use an R-SIM, right?

Can this be used as an iPod only without activating the phone through Verizon?

I have the AT&T prepaid iPhone SE. Just got mine unlocked, you have to wait a full 6 calender months plus one extra day and the unlock will go through. I was told so much bs from their online chat and phone reps, I will never go through getting a locked phone again, the subsidy these phones have on them isn't worth it for the hassle you go through to get it unlocked.

Yes, that's what a few of us were thinking. I was op in that thread. What did you do with the $160 though?
