Based on an internal memo from Rite Aid, "American Express and the existing partners have decided to discontinue the Plenti program due to the limited number of participating retailers." The Plenti program will formally end on July 10th. The memo also states that Rite Aid customers should not be informed that the Plenti program will be ending until April 16th.

The news comes after Macy's and Chili's have announced their plans to exit the Plenti program on May 3.

Added a "free line" @ AT&T a while ago for my daughter and paid my AT&T bill every month with my Amex. Had a ton of points.......scored a free pair of $200 Oakley's @ Macy's.

I worked at Amex when this junk was rolled out. They had a party about it. Met the girl who started it.....thought to myself "this is dumb and useless". Got an umbrella and free food out of the dumb party though.

No shocker here. Was a stupid program from the get-go that I know would never last..pennies back for already way overpriced participants.

Rite-Aid is changing their wellness program, for the better. Plus there is the Albertson's buyout so there will be multiple changes I would guess.

How are people above scoring so much good stuff from it if it was that bad?

I never figured out how to get anything good out of Plenti myself.

There were ways to 'make money' or receive discounts on other (overpriced) services like At&T bills, but it seemed to be more effort than it was worth.

It had nice Exxon deals. Just used a 200 points back offer (=$2) on 5 gallons of gas.
The one before was 500 points back for using 2500 points on gas and it was stacked with 7x points.

Granted there really wasn't anywhere else to use those points around here...

This sucks - you get $25 for each transferred prescription at Rite Aid, then you can spend at Macys or Exxon. I have over $225 saved up, time to spend.

I always thought that some deals at RiteAid were pretty good like buy $50 in HomeDepot gift cards and get $10 Plenti points.

Time to use up my balance.
