American Express Platinum 100k MR Points offer

AMEX Platinum targeted offer for 100k MR points with $5000 spending in 3 months. If you go directly to the Amex Platinum website, you will likely only be targeted for 60-70k points. However, checking your prequalified offers MAY result in you being targeted for a 100k Platinum Card offer. I utilized this technique about 2 months ago to get one for myself and just this week to get one for my wife, both of us were targeted for 100k MR points offers. YMMV as we both have 800+ FICO. Be aware, $550 annual fee may not be for everyone. Military members should strongly consider picking this up given the fee is waived via SCRA. Long list of benefits. For those who don't use Uber for rides, note that the $15/month Uber credit can be applied to UberEats deliveries!

Appears at worst it's a soft pull that won't impact your credit score.

$550, however, if you travel a lot and will utilize the benefits: reimbursement for $200 Uber, $200 airline fees, TSA Precheck fee, Global Entry fee, then the cost is really well offset. Lounge access at virtually every airport on the planet with free food and drinks also bumps up the value significantly but again, only if you travel a lot. MR points are valued somewhere between 0.5-1.5 cents each.

You can get it waived with a phone call every year. Never paid it.

"Lounge access at virtually every lounge/airport on the planet" is a bit exaggerated, isn't it?

Are you getting the fee waived because you're active military?

That's impressive. Is it a grind or usually a one call?
