Home Depot is having 20% off their Graco airless paint sprayers (Today Only, 4/7/18).

The deal is online only, but I had a cool in-store manager that matched the price for me. So in-store YMMV.

Graco Magnum X5 is on sale for $239.20. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Graco.../100634354

Also available:
Graco Magnum X7 is on sale for $319.20 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Graco.../100634350

Graco Magnum Project Painter Plus is on sale for $199.20 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Graco.../204159335

Amazon has also matched the deal (assuming today only also), so depending on your tax situation, this may be a better deal:

Graco Magnum X5 (matches lowest price according to CCC) https://www.amazon.com/Graco-Magn...aco+magnum

Graco Magnum X7 https://www.amazon.com/Graco-Magn...aco+magnum

Graco Magnum Project Painter Plus https://www.amazon.com/Graco-2570...aco+magnum
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

YES this is PERFECT for exterior painting projects - decks, house painting, etc.

YES it's "OK" for interior projects - but since it sprays, you gotta cover everything - floors, ceilings, doors, windows. You'll spend 10x more time covering stuff than painting. Good for painting doors you take off the hinges, cabinets, etc.

NO, it will not work for painting car parts (you need HVLP paint system for that).

AWESOME deal, I've been waiting for a deal alert for this to hit for years. In for 1 of the X7!

Here are some good tips i've developed when painting with any airless sprayer.

- Do not use speed drill padle/mixer. this can and usually aerate the paint and increase chcances of developing a "frog eye" bubble finish. I always use paint stick stir slowly. a little bit of time stiring the paint is nothing compared to having to fix a "frog eyed" finish.

- Always strain your paint before painting, this will reduce possible clogs in the tip and abnormal spray patterns.

- Keep the paint at a same temprature as surface to be painted, differences in temp could cause orange peelish finish or the frog eyed bubbles too.

- Buy a few extra buckets for priming and cleaning the sprayer.

- Proper cleanup right after painting will extend the life of the unit. last thing you want is residual paint to dry in the gun or pump unit.

- Make sure to adjust pressure accordingly and test spray patterns to make sure paint pattern is even from top to bottom.

- Never paint second coat before first coat is dry.

- Do not stop or chang directions in the middle of spraying. always fan-out your spray patterns.

- Always keep the lid or plastic over the paint bucket when spraying. this will prevent anything dropping in the paint.

Hope these tips help everyone with their new sprayer. Happy painting!!!

This is a great deal for a Graco X5. I finished fully renovated a 1 story 3br house and before I painted, I did a lot of research comparing the X5 and the Harbor Freight Krause & Becker Airless sprayer. Features wise, both are pretty much the same, except I think the HF one has more HP rating (5/8hp vs Graco's 1/2.) Also the price I got was $127.49 (onsale price $169.99 - 25% coupon). they both use the same tips, it comes with a 515 tip but I found it to be way way too much paint for any interior needs, but 515 tip works perfect for exterior painting since you want a nice thick coat with wide spray angle. I bought a Graco 30" extension, 414 tip and a 211 tip from home depot. the 30" extension is great for ceilings and walls, it lets you cover a much bigger area due to the extended reach, 414 is perfect tip for ceiling/interior walls and 211 tip is perfect for closets/doors/cabinets/trim.

Not saying the HF unit is better than this Graco X5 unit, but for me price difference was a factor and after my experience with the HF unit, i'm confident it will last and perform just as good as the Graco.

Pretty much all the Graco RAC VI accessories are compatible with the HB one.

not knocking this deal, just my inputs for fellow slickdealers....

My $165 Harbor Freight painter is fine for my one-job-a-year needs, especially after I upgraded to some Graco tips, BUT had prices been anywhere close to this when I was looking I totally would have jumped up to an X5.

I've had this model for years. I primed and painted my basement ceiling in less than an hour (after spending 3 hours taping and covering everything in plastic.

Cleaning is a process, but that's with any airless paint sprayer.

Appears to be an excellent price. I'd like to support HD because they started the sale and I have Pro, but regrettably I went with Amazon because I have prime there, and they'll deliver 4/10 vs.4/16-19 for HD. Sorry HD.

You need a high velocity low pressure sprayer for that. Air compressor needed.

If the wind is not blowing. You really don't want to pay to detail your neighbors cars etc.

Graco are great sprayers and its good that Hd handles them, but Hd has poor inventory management and is less than honest with suppliers. I guess many large companies are like that probably Amazon too, but I only personally know of Hd's tricks.

For interior I would rather use HVLP like Wagner studio plus, you will have to spend more time refilling the cups because it's very small but less time covering everything in the room..it has very less overspary
