Avoid these like the plague if you value your life. I thought I was the only one but since it happened I've read about so many people having the same issue. Where they weld on the nut at the end of the filter can it degrades the integrity of the metal and the filter can burst open. I had this happen while riding through the mountains with no cell phone service. Add that to the fact that I could have been killed considering the whole back half of my bike was covered in oil including the tire. How I didn't go down is a miracle.

I'll post photos of it when I have access to my laptop.

Dont tighten it down like Godzilla by the nut..? I ride my GSXRs and CBRs year round through rain and salt and never had an issue with K&N metal degradation.

Almost every single filter listed is an internal filter. There is no nut nor weld to fail. But thanks for sharing your experience!

KN-133 filter is $3.92 add on item. This is a cartridge filter so none of the above issues.

No, he was right, there was a HUGE string of failures, it came right out the bottom of the nut. A lot of accidents and people getting stranded.

The filter that fits my bike is not on sale and it does have some terrifying reviews as mentioned here. I guess the ones on sale do not have nut to be tightened that might cause leak.
