To answer the common questions:

1) Yes this is a crappy upgrade/replacement for the FireTv Box gen 2.

2) This is a decent upgrade for the FireTV stick gen 2 because of the faster processor, 4K HDR support, and doubled RAM (2GB).

3) Yes you can put Kodi on here.

4) It is portable and just requires micro USB power (like the stick).

5) No it doesn't have an Ethernet port. Again, crappy upgrade to FireTv box. Should have been called the FireTV stick 3.

Best review ever, lol... Hopefully they come out with a "better" Fire TV this year, until then I will stay put.

Yeah lack of ethernet kills it for me. No reason to upgrade my gen1 sticks if it's still going to be wireless.

Though I've heard you can add Ethernet usb ports to it, but that's like another 15 to 20 bhcks, anyone tried?

Same sale price at Amazon [amazon.com]

Hopefully the sale means a *real* Fire TV upgrade is coming soon. This dongle TV is weak, at best.

yeah. i consider this a $5 sale with dongle included. is there a significantly cheaper Kodi box with ethernet/4K HDR streaming?

Or just use the Firefox app to access the mobile YouTube website. Works just fine for me.

Isn't there a YouTube app you can download from the amazon store? I have one on my firestick.

I'm going to disagree with your feedback. I moved from the 2nd gen FireTV 4K to the above pendant design and I get better performance with more codecs.

HDR properly works on my set and ever since upgrading to a newer TV I don't notice any hiccups.

I think that has a lot to do with your input lag and I'm glad that I upgraded.

EDIT: I had multiple 2nd gen FireTV boxes start lagging really badly. The memory was failing and it became unbearable.
