Amazon [amazon.com] has the Acer Predator Z35P monitor on sale for $749.99!

35" QHD Curved 1800R UltraWide Screen with 3440 x 1440 resolution
Refresh Rate: 100Hz - Using Display Port (120hz OC)
Response Time: 4ms, Pixel Pitch: 0.34mm, 2 x 9W speakers
Ultra Low Motion Blur only works at 100Hz, 120Hz and 144Hz
Signal inputs: 1 x HDMI (V1.4), 1 x Display port (V1.2) & USB 3.0

This seems to be about $100 cheaper than other places have it ($850~ at Newegg), and the cheapest Amazon has ever had it!
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

That monitor is both not gsync and it's just ultrawide 1080p rather than 1440p. That is Def not nearly the same quality, hence the huge price difference

IPS has better colour accuracy, better response than TA or VA panel, higher bit depth 8-10 bit, and also better contrast on entire viewing angels.

VA is no mean bad it's somewhere between TN and IPS. If people could afford IPS for the same spec as VA then by all mean do it. For gaming VA is good enough for me.

I do have LG 34" IPS monitor, I will be mounting that on top of this new monitor as a dual setup.

Most people can't tell different between IPS and VA unless you're into photographic, video or graphic design.

Or maybe if you wait a year or so for an IPS 120Hz 21:9 at 1440p will go down to $500.

For those that don't need GSync and are okay without the performance penalty of going up to 1440p, I'd say get the XZ350CU which is basically just the Acer Predator with Freesync instead. I couldn't bring myself to spend almost twice as much on a gsync monitor when most of my games are running at 144fps or more anyway on my machine. You could basically buy 2 of the XZ350CU for damn close to the price of 1 Predator as newegg has it on sale for $399 right now.

I'd be all over this if Acer wasn't a gated brand when wanting to sell back on Amazon in the future.

Which (IPS vs VA) is better for which (photo, video, graphics)? Thanks in advance, appreciate the opinion.

I always have a sneaking suspicion that people around here highly over exaggerate the importance of VA vs IPS but I haven't been able to prove it just yet.

Either way this thing is boss.
