Best Buy in store only 50% off Major Open-box AND built in Appliances

They will fight you over this ad. Manager refused to recognize the AND in the statement. Would only honor for built ins. I ended up "negotiating" for around 35% off.

https://img.bbystatic.com/BestBuy...il2018.pdf

Bold part of ad reads"GET AN EXTRA 50% OFF OPEN-BOX BUILT-IN AND LUXURY MAJOR APPLIANCES" (their caps not mine)

Only apparent exclusion listed appears to be "non-luxury dishwashers"

Manager took the position that luxury meant built-in, that if it moved around it didn't qualify. I just kept going back the word "and" in the ad, he started at $50 off ($800 washer), then 10%, then held firm at $550 out the door if I took it now. I asked for free delivery, he agreed. Probably too much info here, but they were crazy busy this morning and others were taking notice of the deal.

Just tried to replicate in-store; their position was that luxury meant certain brands, and built-in meant specifically hard-wired/installed hardware. (I.e. cook-top) I was quite disappointed.

Manager said it is up to their discretion to honor it or not. They would not, and stated that all of the other stores in San Antonio are doing the same.

Interesting
I have seen a local store...with a Pacific Sales Inside...have this advertised on an in store banner

Luxury appliances means...Kitchenaid..Jenn Air..Viking..Subzero..GE Monogram..etc
The only exclusion I saw was that it did not include slide in ranges...they were only 20% off
But my local store had a kitchen aid slide in range marked down to $1000 and then an extra 20% off

I didn't see someone that got a killer deal on what was probably originally an $8K built in refrigerator
Those NEVER go on sale

I don't know why this is getting so many thumbs down, it was well received last month on here. It helped me get all my kitchen appliances for a quarter of the normal price.

As someone mentioned above, luxury applies to specific brands (Viking, Bosch, Thermador, whatever they have at Pacific Sales Best Buys). It applies to built-in and/or luxury brands. So if you buy a KitchenAid wall oven, that qualifies because built-in. If you buy a Viking microwave, that qualifies because luxury brand. If they wanna argue, tell them to scan the coupon in and it'll decide. I had one guy argue the KitchenAid built-in trash compactor only qualified for the 20% off coupon last month, but scanning the coupon automatically qualified it as built-in like it should for 50% off.

Only exclusion is non-luxury dishwashers (they would normally qualify as built-in, that's why it's an exception).

Also, check for Best Buy Outlets or warehouse sales near you: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/outlet-refurbished-clearance/warehouse-sale/pcmcat748301966853.c?id=pcmcat748301966853 they have much wider selection than a local store, especially for luxury stuff. I saw some Viking Double Wall Ovens for $1800 after coupon ($6500+ normal price) at the Raleigh location last month.

Every Best Buy should honor the coupon, if they don't, contact corporate because it doesn't say "participating stores." If they want to prove it, have them scan it in front of you and show it doesn't work. I haven't heard any of the twelve Best Buys I went to last month say they didn't take it, they're not independently owned...

Washers and dryers were excluded last month and had a 20% off coupon instead. They aren't built-in (have a specific opening in a wall that they're mounted to like an oven or warming drawer) and I'm not sure any would qualify as luxury brand, so they're probably excluded by default. Hope that clarifies.
