Have to ask... How is the WD Blue even considered a deal?

I've never personally had a good experience with WD SSD's, and I've never had a bad experience with Samsung SSD's, and I'm an IT professional, FWIW. WD spinners are fine, but I've had plenty of issues with Intel and WD sata drives.

WD, HGST, and SanDisk have merged; so WD SSDs are rebadged SanDisk SSDs with the same high quality FW, HW, and NAND Flash.

Micron, Samsung, SanDisk, and Toshiba own NAND Flash factories, so they get better parts for SSDs than Patriot and other small companies.

Thanks for sharing your personal experiences. I guess it may depend on luck.
May I share some different experiences? I am not trying to pick a fight. Peace

For SATA SSDs, many user reviews liked Intel, Samsung, and SanDisk.
For SATA HDDs, users liked WD. I also like these products personally.

Of course it's anecdotal. Also I said "sata drives" at the end, but to be clear I meant "sata ssd drives".

WD SSDs are great for game drives for their performance price ratio

I just bought a Samsung 850 500 gb off of eBay for $98 shipped and it has less than 1 TB written to it. Obvious YMMV but I'd much rather search for a deal like that than pay $130+ tax for a WD drive.
