Not much of a 'variety'

The last two times I bought these from Amazon it looked like icing on the Strawberry ones were an afterthought, or they scraped half of it off . Has anyone else noticed that?

It's sad but its gotten to where the generic pop tarts look and taste better than the brand name.

True. On my last order, many of the pop tart ends had been sliced off by the machine that seals the foil pouch. Poor QC

And for those of us who do not have a Costco membership, what would you recommend? Thanks.

Just bought 48 pop tarts from Publix for $2.38 this week.

8 count boxes are priced 2/$4.19, but with $2 off for every 2 you buy. There's also coupons all over the boxes for a free 8 pack of the limited edition Strawberry Milkshake flavor when you buy 2. That makes 4 boxes (any 4 flavors) for $8.38, plus 2 free boxes of Strawberry Milkshake flavor, minus the $6 (you can still use the $2 off 2 on the free ones). I'm not crazy about the Strawberry Milkshake flavor, but it's a great deal.

If you like brown sugar cinnamon, you should try the cinnamon roll flavor. Similar but much better IMO. They really have more of a baked good taste, I think the pastry has more flavor but the filling may be the same as the brown sugar cinnamon. That's my personal go-to flavor.

If you live in the Southeast, I bought 48 pop tarts from Publix this week for $2.38. Way better flavor variety too, since they were 8 packs (which come in dozens of flavors). See my post for details.
