If anyone is curious like I was, 'magix' bought Vegas from Sony and beside them putting their name in front of it now, it is the same exact software. Just re-branded.

So this used to be a bundle in December 2017 as well. $20 was the price for the full bundle, so that's the same. The only difference I see is that "Soundpool: Blockbuster" is new. The old bundle had "Soundpool: Stranger Synths" instead.

I am making due with Audacity, Hitfilm Express, and Gimp 2.8 for my video production. Would this bundle be worth the hassle of me learning new software?

Hitfilm is ok to use but Vegas is much better. Worth it just for that I think.

Hitfilm is a crossbreed between NLE and composting (all in one solution of sorts). It does both well but isn't a master in either domain IMHO. Vegas is primarily a NLE and does that job very well. So if you find yourself mainly doing a lot of editing then Vegas is worth it. If you find you're doing a lot more animations and complex compositing then Hitfilm is the choice. Using both is the best of both worlds where you can use the best tool for the job at hand.

Depending on what kind of audio editing you do Vegas might be able to completely replace your need for Audacity. I don't know much about the Xara Photo & Graphic Designer. But personally I never really cared that much for GIMP given the other options that are available.

At the end of the day the Humble Bundle deal is only $20. The software in this bundle is worth much more than that. If you find that only 1 of the programs in the bundle is useful you still got a deal. Even if that's not the case you're only out $20 which is peanuts, a few beers at the pub or a nice meal.

Just keep in mind that when picking a photo, audio, or video editing program you're buying into a system so to speak. It will take many hours to learn the program to exploit it's potential. Some of this experience will be transferable to other similar programs and some of it will be unique to the particular product. So it's important to find what works for you now and think about how you'll use it in the future and if the program will support that when you reach that point. Most of the programs have free trials. I'd recommend downloading them and kicking the tires. Afterwards if you feel like you want to explore deeper $20 is a cheap date to do so.

That's the only difference I spotted. Considering I still haven't redeemed any of the keys or loaded the bundle I bought in December, I doubt Blockbuster vs. Stranger Synths would matter to me. I was mainly interested in Vegas someday.

I didn't see any time limits to redeem the keys, so I hope I don't find out I lost my keys by waiting until someday I have time to install and try Vegas.

anyone know how this compares to Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 10? It was on sale a few days ago, and I bought that one.

The Corel product is a consumer level product. In that group Powerdirector is a MUCH better choice, in my opinion.
Vegas Pro is a professional video editor with many more options, thus the higher price.
Try the free trials and see for yourself.

Thanks. In this case Vegas is actually cheaper (20$ vs 24$ for Corel).

I'm coming from the Premiere Elements Environment. I used Vegas a long time ago. Looking to go pro, so I think this will be a good next step.

I bought this when it was on sale for the same price a few months back or so. I just started using it after seeing that it's the ONLY other software that can edit 3D video files *that I already have* other than Magix Movie Edit Pro. In fact it seems easier in some ways. I think I was tricked by this low price and figured it wasn't that great but when I looked it up seems like it regularly goes for over $200 online from other vendors as I know this isn't the latest. The latest is 15 and this is 14. Still a crazy deal for this software however!
