Had ours for 11 years. No issues. I do recommend the upgraded slats with the curved ends for better support.

Ours has lasted through 3 moves but I think I broke a toe on the end :/ I love that you don't need a box spring, our mattress sits directly on the slats. Ours is an older one with only about 4-5" clearance under the bed and I think the newer ones have more clearance underneath for storage.

Is it possible to use a box spring if we desire to. We like a lot of height in our bed I'm afraid slats will not cut it with a 10 inch mattress.

I just read that you could use a boxspring but don't use the slats - other people have just rested the boxspring on the floor within the bed frame and placed the mattress on top. I think the issue is that if you use the slats, the mattress will be above the sides of the bed and may move to one side or the other.

However, when sitting the boxspring on the floor, there will be no room for under bed storage - even though ours only has a clearance of 5" from the floor, I still store sheets and blankets underneath.

We used a king size regular mattress (super heavy) directly on top of the slats with never an issue for years. We since upgraded to a Ghost Bed mattress, and still no issues at all with slats breaking.

yeah weve had a similar frame for awhile (ours has a different headboard but the rest is exactly the same). Anyway just posting here to mirror some of the other comments i see. Those corners are fairly sharp and dangerous and easy to get you or any small children hurt. Especially if you have small kids that tend to hop in bed with you....watch out. I told myself ill cover those corners with some foam or something but never got to it laugh out loud but yeah excellent frame but i would probably not buy again.

There's another one of these I think it's $50 more and it has drawers underneath which raises it a bit. I have a synthetic latex mattress and I believe you can use boxspring but slats are recommended (the curved ones are great). Wish I had gotten the drawers after having this for 11 years.

Not a fan of bed with slats. Prolonged use causes mattresses to sag in the middle. I got a similar bed from Ikea with a platform base. I concur with the other comments on sharp corners, but apart from that the bed has lasted for more than 7 years and still going strong!
