really? these from concentrate topicana juices are awful, nothing like the stuff in the box.

cant give them away to my kids and they like the non-concentrate from the big carton
...and i dont blame them, this stuff tastes like minute maid orange juice circa 1990s

Yeah, there is no comparison. Plus, I would not trust OJ that does not have to be refrigerated.

This was something interesting about "fresh squeezed" orange juice I saw recently.

I'm not completely opposed to the process, but the taste makes more sense now.

why can't they make regular orange juice? Why do they have to make it concentrated and add water later? It seems like a big hassle.

In short, because of cost. Unless you are willing to pay significantly more for OJ. You see, not every state in the US produces oranges (or other fruit for other juices for that matter) and also the states that do produce oranges, do not produce enough to supply this country with enough orange juice. Therefore we also import orange concentrate from other countries because concentrate is cheaper to move, store and cool than regular orange juice. One gallon of concentrate can probably produce at least 5-10 gallons of refrigerated orange juice.

I will never buy this again. The last time I bought these they had mold around the caps, and from reviews I wasn't the only one. I distrust them entirely with most food.
