Full disclosure - I am/was a fan boy of La Crosse technology atomic clocks. A self proclaimed sucker, if you will.
I have over 10+ different models and let me tell you my take.

They have absolutely turned into junk. The transmitters break (dont work) and the main units dont last that long. The power management systems in the main units are absolutely horrendous - batteries will leak, eventually.

It is such a same that such a great brand/company has gone to the shitters. Some time around 2015/2016 they started cheapening their entire product line and its been absolute clusterf*ck with product quality issues.

Its just heart breaking to see their product line turn into absolute garbage.

If you must get an atomic clock, go with this model
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001PG2RO

This is the only one that has stood the test of time (5+ years). (This does not have an outside transmitter).
All their digital clocks with transmitters will just be expensive paper weights.

Good info, thanks for sharing it. I've been a big fan of La Crosse and other atomic clocks over the years. Mainly I have bought the analog ones (and in fact I have two of the WT-3181P models you linked). I bought the WT-3143A-INT last year for $20 on a deal posted here but haven't taken it out of the box yet--do you have any experience with that one?

Thanks to radio-controlled ones like these, GPS and internet-connected ones that use NTP, the only clock I ever have to change manually is my oven. It's great!

The WT-3143A-INT model is good.
Sometimes the automatic daylight savings time does not work. All you have to do is take the battery out and replace it after a few minutes. Give it 24hrs to reset to the new time.

$20 for it is a steal. Yup, strategy is to stick with the analog ones.

T'is a shame. No Menards here in the SF Bay Area (nearest is Wyoming??!!?!). With cost of shipping, not as great a deal as I'd like Frown

To the comments about quality...maybe now. I have 3 different La Crosse clocks : 2 atomic, 1 reg. alarm clock. Picked 'em all up (at different times) on sale at Frys (for ~$5/each). The reg alarm clock I thought was trash until I got into it and redesigned the oscillator circuit (for almost no cost except my labor). Now it's off maybe 1-2 secs. every 6 mos. Started out crappy, but I've gotten my money's worth. Both Atomic clocks have been up and running without any problems for at least a few years. So, I've had good luck....but no sense of the product quality now.

Cheers....
