Reviews [amazon.com]. You can see where all the refurbs come from.
18% of people on that Amazon review link gave it a 1-star rating but 53% gave it a 5-star rating. The Amazon review page I saw gave it a 72% 5-star rating. I don't understand how they can have two 5-star ratings pages. Never the less, every place I researched likes this model and gave it overwhelmingly good reviews. Many manufacturers and various models have a remote control problem, power button failure or freezing picture problem. Hopefully those occur while still under warranty so you can swap it out.

I ordered a Samsung JM-51 without WiFi this morning but when I saw this Sony BDP-S6700 with WiFi for $4 more, I ordered one. I don't know if Walmart, Samsung or Sony offer any warranty on these. There must be some warranty. I bought the $4 no questions asked 2-year warranty. With free pickup, it cost me $29 and change. This model usually retails around $90 to $119.

The Sony BDP-S1700 for $19.99 with no Wifi and free in-store pickup is a good deal.
The Samsung JM-51 for $14.99 with no WiFi and doesn't have free in-store pickup. $5.99 shipping brings it up to $21. I think the Samsung is probably a better product and worth the $1 increase over the Sony.
Then there's this Sony BDP-S6700 with WiFi for $24.99 and free in-store pickup.
It's well worth the $4 increase over the Samsung.

This recertified BDP-S6700 has been listed on Slickdeals at much higher prices as a good deal.

Can you recommend a better inexpensive Blu Ray player/streamer with WiFi/BT?

Thanks

I've often noticed Amazon will combine the reviews on multiple models of a device. So you could be seeeing reviews for 3 different models there.

So I ordered the refurbished jm51. What are the chances I get a working blu Ray player? Ordering Walmart refurbished is always a pandora box

Verified Amazon purchase review vs all reviews. That's where you see the 2 separate percentages.

A verified purchase review has been super important to a lot of people, so they have catered the review system to this. People we're using outside resources such as fakespot to see if reviews are legit. This is because of all the cheap Chinese crap that Chinese sellers make fake reviews for. But this is generally only a problem for the super cheap crap that's literally everywhere.

Serious question - doesn't it seem as if Blu-ray isn't really catching on? I would like to get a player at some point, but it just doesn't feel worth it. I don't mind DVD quality for videos at all... When I used to cashier, I'd say people that were concerned about 4K or Blu-ray were in the minority, and usually I would try to dissuade people from 4K because there wasn't enough content for it at the time for it to be worth it (and that's still arguable). Mind you, the time I can think of arguing against it was for an expecting couple...

Are you talking about regular Blu-ray or 4K Blu-ray?

Just really anything above DVD quality. I feel like the content is mostly not there or the price difference for most people probably isn't worth it... But I have my own biases

I agree. I won't even spend the extra .70$ to upgrade to Blu Ray at Redbox.
