Select store pickup for an additional $1 off.

Add the Blu-ray sets to cart, in cart select shipping first and proceed to checkout, and as stock permits, it'll give you $1 off at checkout for picking up in store (if it doesn't work try the same method in mobile site, not app)

For those curious about these coming out in 4k. I don't believe any of these were shot with anything higher than 2k so a 4k version would be "fake 4k." I dunno what HDR would do because the dynamic range probably wasn't as good as the cameras we're seeing today. We're talking about pre-2006 digital cameras here. If I'm remembering correctly, even some of the contents of Planet Earth had to be upscaled to 2k.

EDIT. I did some research and it looks like the majority of the Planet Earth series was shot on a native 720 camera. The penguin scenes were shot on 35mm.

At these prices, just do yourself a favor and get these and watch them. If later sets are 4K and actually look significantly better, great. But 1080 will still blow your mind.

Can't buy any of these after watching Planet Earth 2 in 4K. Wish they would re-release a lot of these in the higher res.

I watched Planet Earth II in 4k recently. Aren't these worth it?

Does anyone know if 4k versions will eventually come out? If it will be, I can wait.

PE1 looks good on BD, but after buying a 4K TV and UHD player, I think it'd be a waste to stockpile more BDs. Hopefully the 4k versions of these shows will go on sale, like around the $20 range.

I watch most of these on Netflix but might purchase a few for the hunting cabin where there is no internet connection. DA is the best and I hope he's still doing this on his 100th birthday!!!

How does the information in your edit affect your first statement about 4k?
An upscale from 2k to 4k is acceptable to some. An upscale from 1k to 4k is acceptable to even fewer. A 35mm source is awesome and 4k can be created with it, as well as HDR.

Knowing that the majority was shot on 720, I personally wouldn't bother waiting for 4k.
